This hike is moderate by pace. It is a true Alaskan hike with bush whacking and trail-less spongy tundra hiking; but we take it slow. We start by crossing the bridge near the Lodge and picking up a moose trail that will bring us to the bottom of the climb. Much of the hike is through spongy tundra that can be pretty tiring on the way up, but a breeze on the way down this is the perfect opportunity to learn the fabled tundra-roll. Along the way, we take plenty of time to enjoy the myriad of tundra plants growing on the mountain. The total hike is about 3 miles in length, with an elevation gain of 1000 feet we usually return to Lodge around 2:00 PM.
