We will journey to the south end of Wonder Lake and hike through an ecosystem of wet tundra, open grass fields, sedge wetlands, and dense spruce forest. There will be many opportunities to view an array of seasonal wildflowers, birds, and many animal signs. As the trail leads you through the spruce forest your guide will discuss the pioneer climbs of Mt. McKinley. At the trails end on a clear day you will be rewarded with glorious views of the mountain. This hike is approximately 6 miles round trip and less than 100 feet of elevation. The estimated time is 4 ½ hours including driving to trailhead.
