CAMP RIDGE, MODERATE
Party Size: 11 guest plus guided maximum.
Frequency of Trips: Twice a day maximum.
Description: This hike is moderate by pace. This hike starts at Eureka
Creek, cuts up a short, steep section (the crux) and begins a moderate
climb through the tundra. The initial portion is steep, but once it hits
the ridge, the hiking becomes easier. As the climbing continues, the
terrain changes from the spongy, arctic tundra, to the rockier alpine
tundra. Much of the hike is rewarded with fabulous views of the Alaska
Range, and the Kantishna Hills to the north. Approximately 1000 feet in
elevation gain and about 4 miles in walking distance can be expected.
This hike will return to the Lodge around 2:00 PM.
